When duplicating project packages between two projects, or even making the same package within one project, specific information is copied to the duplicated package. Let’s see what actually gets copied over:

Information that is copied with the project package duplication:

  • If there was a code entered for the duplicated package, the new package will have the same code. If no code was entered, the field will remain blank.
  • The name of the project package is copied too, and will always be identical.
  • Work performed values will be copied to the new project package.
  • All projects will be copied over. Also, if multiple people were invited from the same company, these will also be brought over. This includes bidders which have declined the invitation and also those that did not quote.

Note: Duplicated packages are created as drafts and are NOT sent to the subcontractors until the contractor publishes the package.

Information that is NOT copied with the project package duplicating:

  • The description field is left empty, the text entered will not be copied.
  • The package lead will not be the same as on the package that was duplicated, but rather the person that has duplicated the package.
  • The “Sent” field, marking the date when the invites were sent, will not be duplicated, since all the duplicated packages are saved as drafts and not issued and the invites have not been sent out yet.
  • The “viewed”, “accepted” and “quoted” fields will show no information since the package is still a draft and no projects can preview it while set as a draft.
  • The package closing date is updated according to the closing date of the project to which you’re importing. E.g. the closing date of the project is 25.12.20 and the package being imported is 10.11.20. After you import the package to that project, the package closing date will be updated to 25.12.20.
