The invite status menu is a feature that is available both to contractors and subcontractor/supplier accounts. This menu performs core functions that are crucial to the system and which we will debunk in this article. They slightly differ between the accounts. Let’s start off with the Contractor.

1. Invite status menu - contractor

  • -The invite status menu is present in 2 places for the contractor. The first place you can find it is in the packages list inside your project. When you click on the arrow to the right of your desired package it will show a dropdown with all invitees inside that package.

-To the right of each invitee there will be a three dots icon. On click, it will reveal all of the functions it can perform:

Mark as accepted - clicking on this option will mark that particular invitee as accepted. This will update the status of that invitee as accepted and add a specific icon to signify you have marked them as accepted in their name. On hover over the icon it will reveal the details of whom accepted the invitation

Mark as declined - clicking on this option will mark that particular invitee as declined. This will update the status of that invitee as declined and add a specific icon to signify that you have marked them as declined in their name.

Mark as quoted - clicking on this option will mark that particular invitee as quoted. It differs from the "Upload quote" feature in the sense that it creates a “lazy quote” that doesn’t require you to fill in the quote details. This will update the status of that invitee as quoted and add a specific icon to signify that you have marked them as quoted in their name.

Upload quote - clicking this option will take you through the process of creating a quote as if you were the subcontractor yourself. This will update the status of that invitee as quoted and add a specific icon to signify that you have marked them as quoted in their name.

Send message - clicking this option will redirect you to the messaging feature where you can send a message to that invitee.

The second place where you can find the invite status menu is within that package in which the same table of invitees is shown, but in a separate, dedicated view solely for that package.

Hint: What’s the difference between 'marking as quoted' and 'upload a quote'. More on that here

2.Invite status menu - subcontractor/supplier

  • -The invite status menu more or less has the same features for the subcontractor as the contractor. It is located in the "Your inquiries" menu to the right of each individual invitation you’ve received on BidWork.

  • - On click on the three dots icon to the right, it will reveal all the features that it can perform:

  • Accept this project - clicking this option means that you’ve accepted the invitation and it will update your status as accepted and add a specific icon in the column.

  • Decline this project - clicking this option means that you’ve declined the invitation and it will update your status as declined and add a specific icon in the "Accepted" column.

  • Upload a quote - clicking this option will take you through the process of creating a quote. Once you create a quote your status will be updated as quoted.

Hint: You cannot decline an invitation once you have uploaded a quote.
