Like a package? Reuse it!

One of the best ways to save time with BidWork is to reuse what you have done in the past.

If you have created packages in other projects and you like how they have been set up, you can simply re-use that package in your newly created project by importing it. Importing will not only import the package name, but also the companies and individuals who were sent enquiries in that particular package.

It is important to mention that the following information will change when importing from one project to another:

  • The package due date changes to the due date of the project it is being imported into.

The following info does NOT change when importing a package:

  • Subcontractors/suppliers invited to the package.
  • Package name.

You can only import already published packages, and not draft ones, from other projects.

1. The first step is to navigate to the "Your projects" menu to select the project you wish to import package(s) into, and press the “Import packages” button.

2. In this view you can find the desired project,. You can use the "help" of the search field and/or the filters showing you issued projects, completed projects and so on. From those you can pick which packages you want from which projects. When you have finished, click “Add” to add them as draft packages to your new project.

Hint: You can exclude subcontractors that have declined to quote or haven’t quoted at all, but you cannot individually pick them at this level. For more on importing individual tenderers from packages, click here

3. The imported package(s) will be added to the packages list with a “Draft” token.

Hint: Imported packages are created as drafts and are NOT sent to the subcontractors/suppliers until the contractor publishes the package.
